Isbn-13: 9786257136273 Author: tihon semushkin Hello, the location described in chukotka is chukotka, a remote peninsula in the far northeastern corner of siberia, near the arctic circle, where the inuit people reside. The book's protagonist is the people who live here: the resilient chukotka people, who for centuries have been forgotten, deceived, despised, and exploited in the tundra, yet who have never lost their superior morality, intelligence, and hospitality. And of course, the selfless soviet teachers who came from moscow and leningrad, miles away, to bring light to this bird-flying, caravan-passing forbidden zone.

In tihon semushkin's novel, which introduces us to the eskimo culture, the establishment of the first boarding school by volunteer soviet teachers in the vast lands of chukotka in the late 1920s is described, along with the events that followed. The local community's way of life, its traditions, its resilience and determination, its step-by-step progress in overcoming great difficulties, are described with great humility, without drawing attention to itself. However, he is a pedagogue who has repeatedly traveled to chukotka and strived for the development of the eskimo culture, and even developed an alphabet for the eskimo language in 1930.
