Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Medea. Sesler - Modern Klasikler Dizisi

Product description

Christa wolf, medea, published in 1996. In sounds, euripides addresses the story that has been repeatedly adapted since his tragedy.

Medea is depicted as a monster mother who always harms her children, a sibling murderer, a sorceress who killed glauke, the daughter of king creon of korinthos with the poisonous dress she sent, a victim of iason's treachery, or an eternal stranger who has crossed bridges with her own roots. However, wolf's medea is not a desperate prisoner of passion and has not committed any crime.

she is an independent woman, with extraordinary powers and human flaws, who has left her country in search of a higher and more humane civilization.

the author ' s novel is placed in an era when the ancient goddess-centered religions were replaced by the atarqueil regimes, when the kings took everything for power.

in this age when xenophobia infects human existence, dialogue is impossible not only between different cultures, but also between genders living in the same cultural climate.

"in margaret atwood's novel, which resembles a tunnel lined with mirrors that both reflects images and echoes voices, wolf examines the functioning of power, the behavior of those oppressed under power, from different perspectives, and tries to get to the source of violence in human communities."
