Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Medea Latin - Turkish (Seneca)

Product description

Seneca (4 bc - 65 ad): beyond his role as a statesman and philosopher, he stands as one of the most influential masters of rhetoric in roman history and a playwright of tragedy. He has once again taken themes from ancient greek tragedies and presented them with roman-specific embellishments. These tragedies, written not to be performed but rather to be read, were rediscovered by italian humanists in the 16th century and served as a model for renaissance writers. Medea, on the other hand, is a masterpiece about ancient love's black scream, love, and betrayal, with the emphasis of its translator. Çiğdem dürüşken: is a teaching member of latin language and literature at the faculty of literature, hacettepe university. He translated the works of numerous famous writers and poets, from augustine, seneca, obidius, and cicero to alciatus, erasmus, more, canpanella, and bacon, into the turkish language. Among his numerous copyrighted works are the *secrets of rome*, *paul's holy journey*, and *letters to the people of anatolia*.
