Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları Boşluğun Güncesi

Product description

For shibata, the only female employee of a cardboard pipe manufacturing company, that day is no different than any other.

Shibata, unlike her colleagues who shirk their responsibilities at work, including things like offering coffee, cleaning the kitchen, and distributing complimentary sweets to visiting customers, refuses to clean up the dirty coffee cups after a meeting. she explains that she's pregnant and can't stand those smells anymore.

although their colleagues are surprised, they accept the situation.

but there is one thing they don't know: shibata is not pregnant.

Now, there's a nine-month process ahead to look convincing, and soon the young woman is swept away by the demands of the situation: the towels she stuffs in her belly, the mother-baby app that tracks the baby's monthly development, and the pregnancy aerobics class she signs up for to lose the weight she gained.

soon the line between truth and lies begins to thin. Shibata must choose between embracing the reality he's thrust into, dealing with the loneliness that grows within him, or surrendering to it.

Emi yagi, with her award-winning novel "the void's chronicle," which has been translated into twenty-two languages, highlights the discrimination women face, especially in the workplace. it also tackles the potential extent of loneliness, a major issue in today's japan, all while maintaining a subtle and unconventional style.
