Product description

Five days five nights book, 80 pages ,late 1940's. . .

On one side, the portuguese people and their colonies were crushed under the dictatorship led by salazar, while on the other, the anti- forces led by the portuguese communist party (pcp) were waging a tough underground struggle against the dictatorship.

under these conditions, many party administrators and members have to escape abroad in secret. Alvaro cunhal, who wrote under the pseudonym manuel tiago and served as the general secretary of the pcp from 1961 to 1992, is another prominent figure who left his country for extended periods. Five days, five nights offers a glimpse into a period of resistance against fascism that would culminate in the carnation revolution of 1974, focusing on the human relationships of that era. It would not be wrong to think that alvaro cunhal created this work based on his own experiences or based on what those closest to him experienced.
