Product description

Why do we read the “classics”? Why are the works of writers from different traditions, both literary and personal, gathered under the title of “classics”, which appeared in a long historical period, almost centuries? Why do the heroes of classic novels overflow the pages of books and become immortalized as inspiring social figures whose influence will last for generations? By establishing a one-way relationship with classical texts, ferit burak aydar, who addresses the texts' original contributions to culture and the shaping of culture in his unique style, rather than turning to a qualitative review, instead of asking why we should read, answers how we should read, and considers the novels and their heroes in the light of political and socio-economic transformations, without missing the defining aspects of the period in which they were written. It is subjected to a critical review of the class, stripped of the premise that the works are only haphazard works, and showing the courage to treat the text in an independent, detached form, independent of the author

The first book of the classic readings series, age of heroes, invites us to “re-acquaint ourselves with classics” with the awareness that classics shed light on the history of europe and then the world, showcasing details that sometimes infiltrate the texts and sometimes are right before our eyes but we do not notice
