Product description

Immediately after the spanish civil war, the novel "nada," written by a young girl and winning the nadal prize in 1944, was rediscovered all over the world in 2004, after the death of its author. Andrea, an eighteen-year-old, arrives at her relatives' house after spending time in her village for university education, having been dazzled by her mother's wealth and culture. However, their relatives have lost their fortune during the war, and they are now struggling to cope with terrible poverty. On the one hand, the young girl is floundering among rich students at school, and on the other, she begins to lose her innocence from the eccentricities she witnesses at home. This novel, which combines darkness, a strong imagination, and subtle humor, and tells the first days of the franko regime with eerie clarity within a growth story, is considered one of the most important works published in europe in the twentieth century by many critics.
