summary: the dutch philosopher baruch (bento) spinoza spent the most intense years of his short life writing. He enjoys painting, he always carries a sketchbook with him.

after his sudden death, he managed to save his friends' letters, manuscripts, notes, but the sketchbook was not found. John berger has always dreamed of finding this sketchbook without knowing what's inside. While he was just re-reading the philosopher he wanted, he was also able to look at the things spinoza observed from his perspective.

when a sketchbook with a suede cover came as a gift one day, it was like, “this must be bento’s! He said to himself and began to draw by following spinoza's thoughts.

and bento's sketchbook has come out.

There is a research conducted with words and images on the concept of bootlegging in this book: a thought process on how the increasingly brutal world of art, as conducted by john berger, one of the wisest writers of our time, with flowers, plants, animals, various dissidents and exiles, such as arundhati roy, platonov, affects our perspective.
