Martı Yayınları New Year's Magic Book - Kolektif - Martı Yayınları

Product description

There was a planet called Earth. Creatures they called “humans” lived there. These humans had brains to think, hearts to feel, and bodies to touch. These people always had desires and wishes

some wanted a better job, some wanted good test scores, some wanted more money, and some wanted good friends.

Each person’s wish was different.

These people never gave up

they kept hoping that their desires and wishes would come true.

So much so that even though every new day was a day when their hopes might come true, they almost saved up their wishes for special days like New Year’s.

They believed that if they voiced their wishes and desires on that day, they would come true in the new year.

For this reason, they prepare a “wish list” for Santa Claus, who will visit them that night.

Santa Claus comes secretly while everyone is asleep and reads these “wish lists.”

There was supposedly no place on earth that Santa Claus couldn’t reach or visit.

On each journey to fulfill people’s wishes, Santa Claus would see different places.

Sometimes it would be snowing heavily in one place, while in another, a light drizzle would be falling.

As snowflakes fall one by one and cover the earth, Santa Claus continues on his way in his sleigh pulled by reindeer, undeterred by any difficulty or hardship, to make people’s wishes come true.

Santa Claus leaves the things people in the places he visits have asked for—sometimes while they’re asleep, and sometimes by slipping them onto the roof unseen—and then disappears.

People don’t just make wishes for the New Year

they also organize various celebrations to welcome the coming year properly, and to greet the first day of the New Year with joy and hope, they do different things to bring happiness to one another.

First, even before the last day of the year arrives, they buy gifts for their loved ones.

Then, to experience the New Year’s excitement more fully, they decorate their homes.

They place the Christmas tree they’ve bought in a spot where everyone in the house can gather, carefully decorating it one by one, and place the gifts they’ve bought for their loved ones under the tree.

When the evening of New Year’s Eve arrives, they prepare special meals, making their table even more festive.

For dinner, they all gather together and sit down nicely around the table.

They enjoy the roast turkey and other dishes they’ve prepared for dinner with great pleasure.

After dinner, they sing songs and dance.

In between, they would snack on popcorn and other treats while playing “bingo.”

The New Year has been celebrated for centuries all over the world—from New York to Paris, from Japan to India, from Italy to Sydney—in various forms, and people have never lost hope for the coming year.
