Yunus Emre said, "Knowledge is knowing / Knowledge is knowing yourself." Knowledge is a lifelong journey of exploration in order to find and know ‘one’s own.’ Those who embark on this path will easily attain paradise, as the Prophet stated. After all, the place where knowledge resides is esteemed as a quality of God. It is not in vain that societies that support scholars have historically existed in a state of well-being. Knowledge is meant to be acted upon and lived with. In one’s search for self-identity, these two must coexist. Niyazi Hodja has been recognized as a scholar, teacher, pious individual, and a master of perseverance, having dedicated more than eighty years of his life to the pursuit of knowledge since his childhood. There were times he sought students to teach in the places where he served, and times when the Quran course overflowed with students. He devoted himself to the pursuit of knowledge and to nurturing students, without seeking an overtime definition, saying, "Angels write our deeds." We speak of a lifetime spent in various activities, nourished by the history and tradition of our country and nation that extend to the roots of happiness, enabling him to stand on his own feet among the public in conversational gatherings due to the invitations of his admirers at the pulpit in mosques and in circles of knowledge. He has impressed many students with the Islamic sciences he taught and gathered from authentic sources, establishing himself as a respected scholar in the hearts of many. They said, "The death of a scholar is like the death of the world." This work has materialized in honor of preserving his cherished memory.
