To cook India Gate Classic Basmati Rice perfectly, rinse thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes for best results. For open pan cooking, use 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. Bring water to a boil, add soaked rice, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes until grains are tender. For dum or biryani cooking, layer parboiled rice over cooked meat/vegetables and slow-cook to infuse flavors. Fluff gently with a fork and serve hot.
