synopsis:The diary of the author / volume 1The author's diary is both a unique window into dostoevsky's world of thought and a powerful testimony that captures the pulse of 19th-century russia.

These essays written by dostoevsky in the 1870s address the social upheaval, political developments, and moral problems of the time with deep sensitivity. In his novels, dostoevsky masterfully explores the darker aspects of the human spirit. in his diary, he discusses russia's future, its relationship with the west, and issues of faith and justice, drawing insights from current events.Sometimes a critic, sometimes a moralist, and sometimes a highly aesthetic interpreter, he brings together literature and politics, personal intuitions and social analysis.

“dostoevsky taught me that the things that hurt me the most were actually the things that connected me most to people.

”James baldwinReading dostoevsky's works is the happiest discovery i have made in my life.

”Friedrich nietzscheThe diary of the author / volume 2The author's diary reveals dostoevsky not just as a novelist, but also as a thinker, a polemicist, and a chronicler of his turbulent era.

In these diary entries, dostoevsky shares his keen observations on the political, social, and moral issues of the time, contemplating a wide range of topics from the conflicts of europe to the future of russia, and from the individual's conscience to the destiny of humanity.Sometimes he discusses current events like a journalist, sometimes delves into the depths of the human spirit like a philosopher, and sometimes tackles the most ordinary details of life with the sensitivity of an artist. The author's diary is both a gateway to dostoevsky's world of thought and a mirror reflecting 19th-century russian society.

“nobody has disentled the complex structure of human being so skillful as dostoevsky.

”Hamsun's whip“more than anyone else, he created the modern prose, dostoevsky.

”James joyce
