Ficus microcarpa Green Island (Chinese Banyan) leaves are little longer than wide, say three to four inches in either dimension, and the shape would be described botanically as orbicular with only an obscure tip These leaf differences are pretty constant, but even more significant is the growth habit.

Green Island tends to spread out sideways and is easy to train as a ground-hugging shrub clinging closely to rocks, across a bed, or even trailing down a wall.

Watering Guide: To allow the plant to absorb water directly from the tray, place the plant pot within the tray and fill it with water.

Do this when the soil dries out, perhaps once a week.

Watering directly from the top will cause the plant's leaves to perish.

Light Requirements: Bright indoor light or indirect sun for 6 to 8 hours.

Optimal Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C.

Avoid draughts to prevent unwanted temperature swings.

Consider spraying twice a week to maintain ideal humidity.

Fertilizing: During spring and summer, feed every 2–4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
