Generic 2D27 MC-38 Wired Door Window Sensor Magnetic Switch features
Other Features
Non-polar sensor, Arduino/Microcontroller compatible, Available in Normally Open and Normally Closed versions, Easy installation
Instructions for Use/Warnings
Installation is simple and easy. The two cables/wires from the reed switch represent the signal wire and the ground wire. As this is a non-polar sensor, these wires can be connected to the Arduino or MCU in any order. For example, the GND pin of Arduino UNO can be connected to the GND wire of MC-38, and digital pin 2 of Arduino UNO to the signal wire of MC-38. The sensor works by detecting if the magnet is close to the switch (door/window closed, circuit conductive) or away from the switch (door/window opened, circuit non-conductive). The output is triggered when the magnet is very close or moves away from the sensor. If the magnetic switch is closed, the output is LOW; if opened, the output is HIGH. A pull-up/pull-down resistor can be used to avoid floating values.
