Dokuz Yayınları Kendine Ait Bir Oda / Dokuz Yayınları / Virginia Woolf

Product description

'lock the libraries if you want, but there is no lock you can hit the freedom of my mind, nor a bolt, nor a door you can close.' A room of one's own is based on virginia woolf's college speeches from 1928, when cambridge university first opened its doors to female students. In this classic work, woolf uses her original language to deeply examine the world around her. It addresses the reasons why literature has been particularly shaped on men. In this work, considered to be one of the pioneers of feminism, woolf creates an imaginary sister for jane austen, george eliot, and the brontë sisters, and shakespeare. He asks the question why it is always men, not women, who have power and fame in the literary world. The answer is quite simple: because women do not have the freedom to create, and in order to be able to do so, every woman needs some money and a room of her own.
