assoc. prof. In this work, titled "safa karayev, dede korkut oğuznamesi: metaphors and psychoanalytic analyses," safa karayev delves beneath the mythical surface of the oğuz tales, reinterpreting them through the networks of meaning established by metaphors and the concepts offered by psychoanalytic readings. The book explores the moments of trial, conflict, loss, and gain experienced by its protagonists, alongside the psychodynamic underpinnings of their relationships with family, community, and authority figures. Repetitions, prohibitions, prices, dreamlike scenes, and symbolic objects within the text are interpreted as traces of inner turmoil and collective unconsciousness. Thus, the dede korkut oğuzname emerges not only as a cultural memory but also as a "laboratory of meaning" carrying the universal experiences of the human spirit. This book, which gives a psychological/psychoanalytic depth to the classic dede korkut works, offers a horizon-expanding reference source for researchers, students, and curious readers who want to approach dede korkut texts with new questions.
