The power must be turned off before installing or cleaning the product. Grounding is required when installing chandeliers; wall sconces, table lamps, and floor lamps, however, are double-insulated and do not require grounding. Do not use light bulbs exceeding the maximum wattage specified on the product label; energy-efficient or LED bulbs should be used instead. Cleaning should be done with a slightly damp cloth, and the product must be allowed to dry completely afterward. Chemicals and abrasive substances such as alcohol, paint thinner, glass cleaner, detergent, cologne, and acetone—which can damage the wood finish or the coating/varnish on metal surfaces—must never be used. In spaces with newly installed hardwood floors or recently refinished furniture, to prevent damage to the finishes, products should be kept in their packaging or kept away from contact with the surfaces for the first 10 days following the refinishing process.
