Product description
Livosil is a standardized extract of milk thistle seeds (Silybum marianum) equivalent to 140 mg of silymarin.
It contains six flavonolignan isomers, with silibinin being the most prevalent and physiologically active.
Silymarin is lipophilic which facilitates high absorption from the digestive tract and has been evaluated in clinical studies with no apparent adverse effects.
It exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic and anti-diabetic effects, supports regeneration and restoration of liver cells by enhancing DNA and RNA synthesis, increases hepatic glutathione content, and modulates cell membrane transporters and receptors.
Silymarin is used as supportive treatment for chronic liver conditions and for alcohol- or drug-induced liver damage.
